S68, Rd 3 Franchise Update (02/11/2010 06:10) |
This is a new idea I had for my blog where every few rounds I will update my general opinion towards my team & the future. I'll try to start with a reminder of where I left off & move forward from there. This could also serve as a quick update for you about my team progress if you don't have time to read all of my other super interesting blog posts
REMINDER: Before the season started, I thought I could win the Department & at least finish >3rd.
UPDATE Going 1-0-1 in my first 2 games is fine. I can still take a loss at the highest Q team in the department & beat the 2nd highest Q team at home to start off 2-1-1 which is what I initially hoped for. Not much more to report except that Irish Warriors lost their first 2 matches against higher Q teams but that had to be a major blow for IW's chances of taking the department. That said, IW came from behind last season to finish in the playoffs. No big upsets so far.
My team has progressed a bit slower than I was hoping this year. So far I've got a high intensity camp, 2 cups & 14 friendlies played (most cup & friendlies with my youth) & +5Q, +40 att. This is roughly on par with last season's rate of gain (in terms of friendlies & camps) but I was expecting more from a team with much more youth & therefore more room to gain. I think I can win the department still & go into Division 2 with a Q80 keeper, 1 Q80 defender & 1 Q79 defender, 1 Q80 midfielder & 2 Q80 attackers. I figure Q80 avg is what's going to be necessary to avoid relegation. This leaves me with 2 goals for this season-- 1. Win the Department. 2. Save money to buy veteran Q>80 next season. |
